    CouchDB source agent

    Source data from CouchDB

    The CouchDB agent can act as a source connector. It reads CouchDB’s native _changes feed and turns each document revision into a Gluesync change.

    Prerequisites

    To have Gluesync perform CDC from CouchDB you will need to have:

    • Valid user credentials that can read the source database and its _changes feed. A member (reader) role on the database is enough to follow the feed; see database security;

    • Apache CouchDB 3.x or above reachable from the agent;

    • The CouchDB HTTP port opened to the agent:

      • 5984 (HTTP);

      • 6984 (HTTPS), in case you use TLS.

    How reading works

    • Gluesync follows the _changes feed and emits one change per captured document revision.

    • The resumable snapshot carries the changes feed sequence as its position: on restart the agent resumes from the last acknowledged sequence instead of replaying the whole database.

    • Deletions are captured as document-level deleted entries on the feed.

    Setup via Web UI

    • Hostname / IP Address: host of your CouchDB node;

    • Port: 5984 (or 6984 when using TLS);

    • Database: the source database to follow;

    • Username / Password: credentials with read access to the database and its _changes feed;

    • Use TLS: enable to connect over HTTPS.
